Academic Cycle 2026/2027 • School List Deadline: October 30, 2026 • Gala: January 2027

1 Official Selection Framework & Equal Opportunity

The Njainday Pullo Cham Memorial Foundation will invite 15 selected primary schools to participate in the 2026–2027 scholarship cycle. Each participating school will provide a complete and certified list of its currently enrolled students. Every enrolled student will have an equal opportunity to be selected, regardless of income, academic grades, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability, or family circumstances.

Each student will be assigned a confidential reference number. Five scholarship recipients and two alternate recipients will be selected through a transparent physical random draw in November 2026. Selected students’ parents or legal guardians will be contacted by November 30, 2026, for verification and gala arrangements.

2 Certified School Roster Model

Participating school administrations provide complete, certified rosters of all currently enrolled primary school students. School administrations do not nominate, rank, or filter students. Direct individual applications from students or parents are not required, ensuring equal opportunity for all.

3 Zero Application Fees & Private Funding

There is strictly no application fee, nomination fee, or participation fee of any kind. The scholarship initiative is privately funded by the founder in loving memory of Njainday Pullo Cham.

4 Scholarship Award and Payment Policy

Each selected student will receive educational assistance valued at up to $300 USD, or its equivalent in Gambian dalasi. The exact amount provided will be based on the student’s verified educational expenses and cannot exceed $300.

No unrestricted cash will be given to the student, parent, guardian, or school. The Foundation will pay approved expenses directly to the school, verified vendors, or transportation providers after receiving appropriate invoices or documentation.

Approved expenses may include school charges, uniforms, books, shoes, supplies, and transportation. All payments must be supported by receipts and confirmation that the assistance was used specifically for the selected student.

Each selected student must attend the January 2027 Scholarship Gala with a parent or legal guardian. The student will receive an official scholarship certificate during the ceremony. Attendance is mandatory.

5 11-Step Scholarship Payment Process

1. Select the five students

The Foundation selects five students through its approved selection process.

2. Notify the families

Each selected student’s parent or legal guardian receives an official award notification and instructions.

3. Complete the Educational Expense Form

The parent or guardian lists the student’s educational needs, up to $300 USD, and attaches invoices, quotations, fee statements, or vendor information.

4. Verify the expenses

The Foundation contacts the school or vendor directly to confirm enrollment, genuine expenses, correct payment details, and student identity.

5. Approve the request

Two authorized Foundation representatives review and approve the expenses. Any unsupported or noneducational expense is removed.

6. Attend the Gala

The student and a parent or legal guardian must attend the January 2027 Scholarship Gala. Attendance is mandatory to remain eligible.

7. Present the scholarship certificate

The student receives a certificate during the gala. Cash is not distributed at the event.

8. Make direct payments

After the gala, the Foundation pays approved schools, vendors, or transportation providers directly through a traceable payment method.

9. Collect receipts

Every school or vendor must provide an official receipt showing the student’s name, items paid for, amount, and payment date.

10. Confirm delivery

The parent or guardian signs a confirmation that the student received the approved uniform, books, supplies, transportation, or assistance.

11. Close the scholarship record

The Foundation keeps the form, invoices, approvals, transfer confirmations, receipts, and delivery confirmation together. Any unused portion of the $300 remains with the Foundation and is not paid as cash.

6 Media and Publicity Consent

The privacy and dignity of every child will be protected. A selected student’s name, school, photograph, video, or personal story will only be published after written permission has been received from the student’s parent or legal guardian. Families may decline publicity without affecting the student’s scholarship award.
